What's that being built in front of Miracle Plaza on Thomasville Road?
Construction in the Miracle Plaza Shopping Center is taking shape for a new furniture store. The new store will be Lovesac, a national company behind viral sofa products that offer ways to shift sectionals at will. It was first reported in a July 2025 article in the Tallahassee Democrat. The new standalone store is going next to Hollywood Feed, Fleet Feet and Stretch Zone on Thomasville Road. The projected opening date is slated to be early fall 2026, said Debbie Ashlin, a commercial real estate broker for NAI TALCOR. That opening date is subject to "construction timelines and final approvals," Ashlin added. According to the company's website, Lovesac products are "built to last a lifetime and designed to evolve with you." The company already has more than 20 locations in Florida mostly in central and south Florida. The nearest locations to Tallahassee are Pensacola, Gainesville and Jacksonville, as previously reported. The development marks something of a return to the capital city for the company. At one point, Lovesac had a partnership with BestBuy to showcase some of its inventory in the electronics retailer's stores, including at the Tallahassee location on Apalachee Parkway.
