Madison Rotary Club to hold prime rib dinner
The Madison Rotary Club will once again be holding their annual Prime Rib Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 26. The dinners feature a lower price this year, but the great tasting and generous portions of prime rib and sides will remain the same. The price for the dinners will be $25 each and will include prime rib and baked potato, along with salad, a roll, desert and a beverage. The event will take place at the Villa Maria Social Hall of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, located on Orange Ave., across from Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison. Dine in and take out will be available.

ECHOLS CO. – The GBI arrests a Lake Park woman for the involvement of human trafficking a minor victim into labor servitude. After a joint investigation involving the Echols County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit, Genara Juan -Ramos, age 30, of Lake Park, GA, has been charged with two counts of 1st degree Cruelty to Children and one count of Human Trafficking.

Students living in VSU residence halls have reported mold growing at an alarming rate in their rooms. Mold has been seen in Hopper, Georgia, and Centennial. Students have brought awareness to this by posting anonymous pictures of their dorms to the social media platform YikYak. With the increased attention, many other students have said they have seen mold in their own dorms.
