The new-look Spa at Woodcliff at Woodcliff Hotel & Spa has a new honor.
Readers of American Spa, which featured the spa’s renovation and sustainability efforts in a recent edition, voted the hotel and spa in Perinton as the Best New or Renovated Spa in the U.S.
The Spa at Woodcliff won the reader contest over 31 other new or renovated spas in the country. No stranger to renovations, the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa last year completed a $1.2 million renovation of its restaurant, which has been rebranded Horizons Modern Kitchen + Wine Bar.
Sheila Bracewell, manager of The Spa at Woodcliff, and staff are immensely honored to receive the prestigious title, Bracewell said in an email.
“This publication — a beacon in the industry for over two decades — has been the go-to resource for spa professionals striving to elevate their businesses,” Bracewell said. “Being recognized in this esteemed publication is truly gratifying and a testament to our dedication to excellence in the spa industry."
Why were readers impressed with The Spa at Woodcliff?
The spa, which opened at the hotel 20 years ago, is embracing green, which seemed to appeal to readers.
American Spa highlighted Woodcliff’s use of a QR-coded menu for massage and facial services, among other services, which saves on printed material. Its prioritizing of digital communications and receipts and opting for email over paper whenever possible also was noted in the publication.
"In our reopening and moving forward, our unwavering focus remains on wellness, enhancing our team, enriching guest experiences and embracing sustainability,” Bracewell said. “Recently certified as an Eminence Organics Green Spa, we are committed to furthering our environmental efforts throughout 2024 and beyond.”
The spa, which offers customers a welcome area, locker rooms, hair and nail salon, tranquility lounge and treatment rooms, recycles whenever possible and uses reusable plates, glassware and mugs, as well as natural cleaning agents.
Natural light is emphasized as is the use of energy-efficient fixtures. The spa also sources organic and cruelty-free products.
“These seemingly small adjustments collectively contribute to our larger goal of environmental responsibility,” Bracewell said. “As we continue to evolve, we remain dedicated to implementing further positive changes for the betterment of our community and planet."
