    Here are the 7 schools around Peoria headed to the 2024 IHSA bass fishing state finals

    The Illinois High School Association held its bass fishing sectionals across the state on Thursday as 75 boats advanced from 25 different sites to the state finals — scheduled for May 17-18 at Carlyle Lake .

    Among the advancers were eight boats representing seven schools from the Peoria area, plus another three boats earning spots as alternates.

    Princeville, Olympia, El Paso-Gridley and Carthage Illini West won sectional championships, while Tremont, Illini Bluffs, Farmington and another Olympia boat moved on with top-three finishes. Here is a look at each school, their coach and boat driver, each angler and how they finished at sectionals.

    Princeville

    • Coach and driver: Tait Sennett.
    • Anglers: Tucker Sennett (jr.), Tanner Catton (jr.)
    • Sectional finish: Reeled in 12.43 pounds to win the Banner Marsh Sectional.

    Stanford Olympia — No. 1

    • Coach: Jon Wise
    • Driver: Ken Petersen
    • Anglers: Brantson Komnick (sr.), Nick Siebert (sr.), Jace Winters (fr.), Kael Westfall (fr.).
    • Sectional result: Caught 8.93 pounds to win the Evergreen Lake Sectional.

    El Paso-Gridley

    • Coach: Jim Bagnell
    • Driver: Jarrin Landrus
    • Anglers: Conlee Landrus (sr.), Orion Dunlap (jr.)
    • Sectional finish: Caught 10 pounds, 4 ounces to win the Lake Bloomington Sectional.

    Carthage Illini West

    • Coach: Harold Northup
    • Driver: Travis Wilson
    • Anglers: Caden Cox (sr.) and Grady Blue (fr.)
    • Sectional finish: Reeled in 9.48 pounds to win the Mississippi River (Pool 18) Sectional.

    Stanford Olympia — No. 2

    • Coach: Jon Wise
    • Driver: Marion Long
    • Anglers: Jackson Long (sr.), Clayton Grieder (fr.), Dylan Langley (fr.), Kellan Neal (fr.)
    • Sectional result: Caught 6.96 pounds to finish second at the Evergreen Lake Sectional.

    Farmington

    • Coach and driver: Ron Boyer
    • Anglers: Emily Valliantatos (sr.), Dawson Foster (sr.), Kaydon Bollinger (so.)
    • Sectional finish: Reeled in 11.10 pounds to finish second in the Banner Marsh Sectional.

    Tremont

    • Coach: Lou Wicks
    • Driver: Marty Rollins
    • Anglers: Chase Stedman (jr.), Matt Conn (so.), Todd Wagenbach (fr.)
    • Sectional results: Caught 6.44 pounds to finish third at the Evergreen Lake Sectional.

    Glasford llini Bluffs

    • Coach: Aaron Roberts
    • Driver: Bob Worrick
    • Anglers: Jack Murphy (sr.), Ethan Roberts (sr.), Ty Basham (so.), Josie Parker (so.)
    • Sectional finish: Caught 7.87 pounds to finish third in the Banner Marsh Sectional.

    Alternates

    The following three boats from Journal Star-area schools are listed as alternates and will replace any top-three boat from their sectional that chooses not to participate.

    • Morton Coach and driver: Chuck Hart. Anglers: Ethan Luft (sr.), Ethan Johnson (jr.), Tate Shurman (so.)
    • El Paso-Gridley Coach: Jim Bagnell. Driver: Don Raymer. Anglers: Noah Henderson (so.), Carter Bergquist (fr.), Colin Foster (jr.), Zek Gaddy (so.).
