Free trolley service available to Pensacola Beach visitors

PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. ( WKRG ) — Visitors to Pensacola Beach will have a new way to get around this Memorial Day weekend as the Santa Rosa Island Authority launches its free trolley service.

According to a press release, the trolley, operated by Escambia County Area Transit, will launch its free service along Pensacola Beach today, Friday, May 24, at 4 p.m.

Visit Pensacola Beach’s website notes that “the trolleys help alleviate traffic congestion by allowing visitors to park anywhere and have a convenient way to tour the whole island.”

Three trolley routes are available for visitors from 4 p.m. to midnight through Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 2, according to the release:

• The eastern route: Casino Beach to Portofino
• The western route: Casino Beach to Park West near the entrance gate to Gulf Islands National Seashore
• The commercial core route: Casino Beach to Grand Marlin, with stops along the new access road at Pensacola Beach Boardwalk

• Text SRIA (space) and the trolley stop number to 41411
