    Pennsboro woman charged after several drugs found during traffic stop

    PENNSBORO, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman has been charged after deputies with the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office say they found multiple drugs and a stolen firearm during a traffic stop in Pennsboro.

    According to a criminal complaint, on April 25, a detective performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on E. Myles Avenue and Reed Street which was pulling a trailer that “did not have any visible trailer lights.” The detective said that the vehicle was being driven by Tammy Jones, 45, of Pennsboro, and had two additional people inside, one of whom was a juvenile according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.

    During initial contact with Jones, the detective said that they could “smell the odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle. They then called in another deputy and K-9 Luna for an open air sniff which confirmed that a controlled substance was present.

    The deputies then searched the vehicle and found:

    • Around three ounces of marijuana
    • Eight full Xanax bars and four broken Xanax bars
    • Twenty-six hydrocodone pills in a plastic cylinder
    • Several split hydrocodone pills in a metal cylinder
    • Digital scales
    • Clear plastic baggies
    • A ledger
    • $235 in cash
    • A stolen 9mm pistol with the serial numbers shaved off

    Jones has been charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond.
