Man charged after fleeing from deputies in semi-truck through Ritchie County
HARRISVILLE, W.Va (WDTV) - A man driving a semi-truck fled from deputies Tuesday night, according to the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Department. Scott Ford, 48, of Caldwell, Ohio, was arrested and charged with fleeing while DUI and fleeing with reckless indifference after deputies said he refused to stop his semi-truck on Route 50.

Hope Gas announces plans for the 6th utility acquisition
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Hope Gas has announced plans to purchase Consumers Gas Utility, pending approval from the state Public Service Commission. Consumers Gas serves about 8,500 customers in Cabell, Jackson, Putnam, Ritchie, Roane and Wayne counties.Hope Gas President and CEO Morgan O’Brien said this acquisition now puts Hope Gas in 38 of the state’s 55 counties. Like the previous five acquisitions, Hope Gas will file plans with the PSC to begin repairs and improvements to the Consumer Gas Utility system.

Whipple man dies in single-vehicle crash
MARIETTA – A Whipple man died this morning in a one-vehicle crash in which alcohol is suspected as a factor, according to the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The post is investigating the crash, which was reported around 3:59 a.m. on Washington County 15 (Germantown Road) near where it intersects with Salem Township Road 127 (Tick Ridge Road), according to a release from the patrol.
