The keys to Penndel Bowling Center will be turned over to someone new.

On Tuesday night, owner David Strippoli, announced the 24-lane bowling alley on West Lincoln Highway would undergo a change of ownership on May 8.

“After 20 years here at PBC, and 25 years at the family's center before PBC, I am retiring,” he posted on the Penndel Bowling Center’s Facebook page .

“I wish the best of luck to the new ownership and management team. I'm certain they will take PBC to the next level of quality.”

Strippoli’s post also expressed appreciation towards everyone who helped to keep the bowling alley going and those who supported him along the way.

“I would like to thank all the loyal customers and league bowlers for their patronage. I owe a debt of gratitude to the staff here (past & present) for holding things together all these years. Most importantly, I want to thank my family for their support. I regret that there were far too many instances where I was forced to put the business before them,” he wrote.

“Lastly, a big thank you to Shirley North...who's been here since PBC opened in '63 and has tirelessly been a goodwill ambassador for this bowling center. You are truly a saint, and I couldn't have succeeded here without you.”

Penndel Bowling Center was purchased by Strippoli in 2004 for $495,000, according to county property records, which did not reflect the most recent change in ownership.

Strippoli was not immediately available for comment Wednesday; it’s not yet clear who will take over the bowling alley and whether any changes are to come.

The 60-year-old business is only one of three locally owned bowling alleys left in the Lower Bucks area, along with Morrisville Lanes and Pike Lanes in Southampton. Levittown Lanes closed after its building was destroyed by a three-alarm fire in 2022 .

Currently, Penndel Bowling Center hosts open bowling, leagues, birthday parties, fundraisers and its popular Dollar Nights, a special offered twice a week after 9 p.m. when guests can bowl for just $1 per game.

The bowling alley is also home to Roll the Ball Pro Shop and Penny Lanes Pub.
