Exhibits, a mural festival and more arts events abound in Tampa Bay this month
The Dalí Museum regularly presents exhibitions that explore the way Salvador Dalí fits into the scope of art history by displaying his work alongside the most influential artists in the world. This time, Dalí’s art is being shown in context with his European predecessors El Greco, Diego Velázquez, Luis Meléndez and Francisco Goya. Spanning nearly five centuries, “Dalí: Disruption + Devotion” was co-organized with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. It aims to show these artists’ influences on Dalí and how he “mined the whole history of art to fashion himself into its latest heir,” according to a press release.
