    Law enforcement calls for March 29-April 26, 2024

    PARK FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Park Falls Police Department reported public calls from April 8-21, 2024.

    APRIL 8

    • referred a juvenile in possession of tobacco to Price County Human Services at the request of Chequamegon High School.

    APRIL 10

    • a traffic stop resulted in citation and correction order, one juvenile curfew citation, and two juvenile curfew warnings. The parents were contacted.

    • a traffic stop resulted in a driving without a valid license charge and numerous citations.

    APRIL 11

    • 8:50 p.m., issued a barking dog citation to a resident who had multiple previous occurrences.

    • investigating possible theft of package from a residence.

    • a traffic stop resulted in a juvenile curfew violation warning and the parents were contacted.

    • officers assisted Wisconsin Department Revenue — Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement agents in conducting tavern compliance checks. The Lanes, Jack’s Corner Bar, The Roundup, and Sugarbush Bar were in compliance. Resale alcohol was seized and contaminated bottles discarded at Vichy’s Bar, Tailgator’s, Captain Nemo’s and MT Pockets. Vichy’s Bar was selling electronic tobacco vapes and products without a license.

    APRIL 12

    • investigating a retail complaint of a customer allegedly attempting to use a stolen credit card.

    APRIL 13

    • 2:25 p.m., multiple complaints of speeding ATV/UTVs in the area of Ninth Avenue South.

    • arrested a man for possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia at the K-9 unit alerted to the vehicle during a traffic stop for operating with an expired driver’s license.

    APRIL 17

    • assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop of a wanted and potentially dangerous individual.

    APRIL 18

    • 9:30 p.m., two-vehicle crash at State Highways 13 and 70 in Fifield. No injuries.

    APRIL 19

    • arrested a woman and referred charges after investigating a domestic abuse incident.

    APRIL 20

    • 5:25 p.m., issued a dog-at-large citation to a resident who had multiple previous occurrences.

    APRIL 21

    • 8:57 p.m., cited two intoxicated individuals for public urination on First Street after responding to a complaint the two were walking in the middle of State Highway 13

    • assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop where a man and woman were arrested for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.

    APRIL 15

    • 7:36 a.m., arrested a man for domestic abuse and possession of an illicit substance after responding to domestic disturbance at a Center Avenue residence.

    APRIL 16

    • 10:06 a.m., contacted the owner of a vehicle that drove off without paying for gas at a station.

    APRIL 17

    • 5:47 a.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a two-vehicle crash involving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2003 Subaru Outback Impreza on State Highway 13 near Hilly Haven Lane.

    APRIL 19

    • 1:57 p.m., a juvenile male was warned for conduct after Phillips Public School District reported a staff member was receiving harassing phone calls.

    APRIL 23

    • 11:01 p.m., issued a citation for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle to the driver of a 2013 Buick La Crosse after stopping to investigate a family dispute on Pine Ridge Road at Fairway Drive.

    APRIL 24

    • 8:20 a.m., issued a city ordinance citation for disorderly conduct to a Depot Street resident who was making an ongoing theft complaint.

    • 8:35 a.m., issued a city ordinance citation for disorderly conduct and trespassing to a woman after responding to a report of an altercation at a Flambeau Avenue residence.

    • 2 p.m., a juvenile female was warned for conduct after Phillips Public School District reported that an 18 year old male was receiving harassing phone calls.

    • 2:30 p.m., referred a juvenile female to Price County Human Services for disorderly conduct after responding to a complaint of a student creating a disturbance on a playground on State Highway 100.

    APRIL 25

    • 10:50 a.m., arrested a woman for violating a domestic abuse order and misdemeanor bail jumping after responding to a complaint from a Catawba resident.

    APRIL 26

    • 2:23 a.m., arrested a man for domestic disorderly conduct and battery, with additional subjects to be cited for contraband after responding to a domestic complaint at a North MinnowLake Road residence.

    • 7:45 a.m., contacted Xcel Energy Inc., regarding a dump truck that struck a power line while working on Fifield Street.

    • 8:26 p.m., investigating an alleged child abuse incident reported at a local restaurant.

    MARCH 29

    • 7:23 p.m., car-deer crash in Phillips.

    • 7:33 p.m., a motorist reported a vehicle wa in the ditch with the airbags deployed and broken glass.

    • 9:44 p.m., OWI

    • 11:58, car-deer crash in Phillips.

    MARCH 30

    • 2:53 a.m., OWI

    • 12:05 p.m., downed power line on a road in the town of Knox.

    • 12:29 p.m., animal bite in Park Falls.

    • 7:17 p.m., Park Falls traffic stop resulted in a drug offense.

    APRIL 1

    • 12:27 p.m., a Fifield building manager complained of a tenant who was bothering neighbors with lewd conduct.

    APRIL 2

    • 7:57 p.m., vehicle in the ditch in Phillips.

    • 9:49 p.m., vehicle in the ditch in Ogema.

    • 10:49 p.m., a Catawba resident reported her vehicle went off the road on U.S. 8 at Woodlawn Road and rolled on to the driver’s side. She and a passenger were unable to get out.Prentice Ambulance Service, Catawba Fire Department, Kennan Fire Department also responded.

    • 11:08 p.m., vehicle in ditch.

    APRIL 5

    • 5:25 a.m., car-deer crash.

    •12:07 p.m., a Phillips resident reported a fraudulent charge on her credit card.

    • 4:14 p.m., assisted Wisconsin State Patrol on a traffic stop in which the driver and passenger were detained.

    • 9:35 p.m., a motorist reported a vehicle in the ditch in the town of Elk.

    APRIL 6

    • 12:23 a.m., OWI

    • 5:20 p.m., dog bite complaint in Park Falls.

    • 9:12 p.m., a motorist struck and injured a bear in the town of Knox.

    APRIL 7

    • 10:12 a.m., callers reported a dog bite to a child had occurred while in Price County.

    APRIL 8

    • 4:48 p.m., Deputies responded to an Eau Claire dispatch report of a man who called from Price County claiming to have killed his wife before hanging up. The call turned out to be a swatting attempt.

    APRIL 9

    • 3:31 p.m., Howard Young Medical Center Emergency Room in Woodruff reported a patient was bitten by a dog while working as a FedEx delivery driver in Price County.

    • 4:09 p.m., Wisconsin DNR requested assistance with removing a bear from the roadway.

    APRIL 10

    • 11:32 a.m., a Fifield motorist reported a broken windshield on her 2016 Ford Fiesta after hitting a turkey on State Highway 13 near Maple Grove Road.

    APRIL 11

    • 10:35 a.m., a motorist reported a tree was down on a road in the town of Spirit.

    • 12:54 p.m., fraud complaint involving stolen bank checks.

    • 3:37 p.m., a motorist claimed his windshield was shattered and he was injured by a rock thrown from a student in a Prentice school bus. The school superintendent was notified.

    APRIL 25

    • 4:25 a.m., a Brantwood motorist reported sliding into the ditch.

    APRIL 26

    • 2:20 p.m., car-deer crash.

    • 9:12 p.m., car in ditch in Park Falls.
