PARK FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Park Falls Police Department reported public calls from April 1-7, 2024.

APRIL 1• 5:22 p.m., vehicle lockout assist.

• 10:07 p.m., traffic complaint of a possible drunk driver was unfounded.

• altercation reported at a retail store. Suspect could not be identified from surveillance video.

APRIL 2• 9:31 p.m., welfare check request.

• responded to a Second Avenue North where the owner of a dog was asked to surrender a dog with malnutrition by the Price County Humane Officer or the animal would be seized.

• a suspicious vehicle complaint was a driver out of gas.

APRIL 3• 7:45 a.m., a motorist brought in a dog that was lying frightened on North River Road, north of Hoot Owl Road in poor weather. The owner was notified and the dog was returned by the county Humane Officer.

APRIL 4• 11:42 a.m., vehicle lockout assist.

• 9:44 a.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with locating a defendant who did not report to the jail as ordered.

• assisted the Price County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop.

APRIL 5• report of juveniles with alcohol in a vehicle. Unable to locate vehicle.

• issued curfew, trespassing and obstruction violations to two juvenile males after a residential complaint of someone looking in a window.

• 8:39 p.m., welfare check request resulted in no contact. Contact was eventually made to confirm safety at April 7.

APRIL 6• 5:33 a.m., suspicious vehicle reported at a gas station was unfounded.

• 5:25 p.m., vehicle lockout assist.

• 5:41 p.m., commercial complaint.

• a man was arrested following a call to a domestic incident with charges pending.

• assisted Ashland County Sheriff’s Office with a possible child sexual assault investigation by ensuring the child was safe and making a report.

APRIL 7• 2:16 a.m., suspicious situation.

• 2:15 p.m., juvenile matter.

• assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with serving a warrant. A woman was arrested on drug charges.

• arrested a man for theft and criminal damage to property after a complaint of someone removing and taking the skirting material on a mobile home.

PHILLIPS POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Phillips Police Department public calls from April 8-14, 2024.

APRIL 8• 8 a.m., Price County Humane Officer advised the department of a city resident who was warned for failure to register animals.

APRIL 9• 1:45 a.m., lost tricycle found at park.

• 2:20 p.m., unsecured door at a city facility on County Road H.

• 7:01 p.m., traffic warning — non-functioning tail light.

• 7:30 p.m., report of an open manhole on Depot Street and County Road H.

• 7:32 p.m., traffic warning — speeding.

APRIL 10• 1:16 a.m., suspicious vehicle on Princeton Valley Lane. Officer advised vehicle occupants to park elsewhere.

• 7:45 a.m., traffic warning — failure to stop at stop sign.

• 9:02 a.m., traffic warning — speeding.

• 9:30 a.m., the Phillips Public School District requested a report for record of a student who damaged school property that was able to be repaired.

• 10:24 a.m., a motorist reported a logging truck with its load leaning to the right was going south on State Highway 13 toward Phillips. An officer waited but never saw the truck enter the city.

APRIL 11• 11:10 a.m., issued a disorderly conduct citation to a resident of a South Eyder Avenue apartment complex after neighbors complained of yelling and slammed doors.

• 11:50 a.m., gas drive off complaint from a station. An officer contacted the driver.

• 1:20 p.m., a dog-at-large complaint of an unattended dog at the Ball Park Drive dog park. The dog was tagged and the owner was contacted.

• 5 p.m., a suspicious situation complaint at Elk Lake Park turned out to be people looking for a lost frisbee.

• 5:40 p.m., traffic warning — speeding.

• 11:30 p.m., an officer observed individuals dumpster-diving at a South Lake Avenue business after-hours. The people were ordered off the property and the matter is under investigation.

APRIL 12• 6:17 a.m., traffic warning — speeding.

• 9:30 a.m., loud noise complaint on South Eyder Avenue.

• 11 a.m., suspicious situation reported on South Eyder Avenue.

• 11:50 a.m., lost-found property.

• assisted Taylor County Sheriff’s Office with locating an individual in Phillips.

• 9:40 p.m., welfare check request.

APRIL 13• 10:21 a.m., traffic warning — obstructing a sidewalk.

• 10:49 a.m., a motorist reported that a flatbed truck had lost an item from its trailer while traveling on South Lake Avenue at County Road F.

• 12:35 p.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office on a medical call.

• 4:10 p.m.. assisted Park Falls Police Department.

APRIL 14• 9:45 a.m., traffic warning — speeding.

• 10:20 a.m., traffic warning — speeding.

• 12:04 p.m., traffic warning — speeding.

• 12:40 p.m., issued citations for driving without a seatbelt and no proof of insurance to the driver of a 2012 Kia following a traffic stop on North Argyle Avenue.

• 2:35 p.m., issued a citation for dog-at-large after individuals reported capturing the animal on Oak Street. The owner was identified and had two prior dog-at-large contacts.

• 5:48 p.m., responded to a fire call at a Fairway Drive apartment complex. The alarm was triggered by a hair dryer and was reset by the Phillips Fire Department.

• 6:14 p.m., arrested a man at a Fairway Drive residence for an extraditable warrant in Illinois.
