Over 3 Inches of Rain Could Soak Durango With Flooding Risk for Telluride, Montrose, and Grand Junction as Active Storm Track Returns This Week
DURANGO, Colo. — An active storm track returns to Colorado this week, once again favoring areas west of the Continental Divide. The risk of heavy rain and localized flooding will rise in and around the San Juan Mountains and over recent burn scars. Rainfall estimates of 1 to 3 inches look reasonable, with locally higher amounts. The heaviest precipitation is expected to begin Wednesday.

Up to 4 Inches of Precipitation Could Soak Durango, Montrose, and the San Juan Mountains Late Next Week as Flooding Concerns Grow Across Southwest Colorado Communities
DURANGO, Colo. — The wettest spot in the Lower 48 next week could be in southwest Colorado. Weather is expected to stay mostly dry through midweek, but a strong storm could bring 3 to 4 inches of precipitation to the San Juan Mountains late in the week. The moisture could help ease drought across the region. However, widespread flooding could become a concern in parts of southwest Colorado.
