Hundreds of antique cars, trucks and other vehicles were on display at the "Car Show Long Island" at Tobay Beach on Sunday. The free attraction featured the hottest and most classic cars in the tri-state area.

The popular, annual event drew thousands of car enthusiasts.

“When somebody tells me it was their dad’s car, their grandfather’s car, there are just so many emotions that go into people’s cars. It’s kinda nice,” said Valery Orellana, of Baldwin.

Many spectators had the opportunity to get up close and personal with antique and classic cars like a 1960 Ford Thunderbird. Lester Ginsberg, of Long Beach, owns it. “I enjoy it, driving it here, like I said, putting a smile on people’s faces.”

Newer vehicles like the Polaris Slingshot also turned heads.

“It’s an open-air vehicle, so it’s classified as a motorcycle, but you don’t need a motorcycle license, but you have to wear a helmet,” said Katie Francis, of Bellmore.

“We have awards for everything, best in show, most exotic car, best muscle car. One of the most interesting is the kids' choice, so that children can pick their favorite car,” said Joseph Saladino, supervisor of Town of Oyster Bay.

The event was presented by several companies, including Optimum, a subsidiary of Altice USA, News 12’s parent company.

The 3 top winners for the Supervisor’s Trophy Best in Show were:

    • Second Runner Up: Frankie Gonzalez 1941 Cadillac
    • First Runner Up : Carmine Castoria 1967 Mustang Shelby Gt 500
    • The Best in Show Tracy Iaccarino with a 1931 Model A
