Miami and head coach Mario Cristobal added a massive transfer portal addition on Tuesday, which caught the nation's attention. Former Tennessee EDGE Tyler Baron announced his commitment to Hurricanes on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound EDGE will have one season of eligibility remaining.

Baron last played at Tennessee during the 2023 season before transferring to Ole Miss in December. He only stayed in Oxford for a month before transferring to Louisville in January.

The edge rusher accounted for 101 total tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks with the Volunteers from 2020-2023. He finished second on the team in sacks behind James Pearce Jr. last season.

He earned Midseason All-American honors from the Reese's Senior Bowl. He also earned third-team Preseason All- SEC honors.

The Hurricanes have done well in the portal. Miami's transfer commits include former Washington State quarterback Cam Ward, former Washington safety Mishael Powell, and former Middle Tennessee State defensive lineman Marley Cook.

Fans flooded social media to weigh in on the news of Baron's commitment to Miami. Some claimed Miami should be a lock to make the College Football Playoff this season, while others came together to voice their displeasure with the move.
