Meijer, the grocery chain which also has Meijer Express gas stations, tops this year's list of America's favorite convenience stores Meijer America has a new favorite convenience store – and no, it’s not Buc-ee’s , according to new data. In fact, the Texas -based beaver-themed chain with a massive fanbase has fallen behind several competitors in this year’s customer satisfaction rankings. So, which chain took the top spot? It was Meijer. The Midwest retailer, better known for its sprawling grocery stores than its convenience stores, jumped five points to 82, earning the highest customer satisfaction score among the more than two dozen convenience store brands evaluated by the index. While Buc-ee’s has built a nationwide fanbase, the chain failed to crack America’s top three favorite convenience stores this year (Getty/iStock) Meijer operates about 500 stores across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Kentucky, with around 230 Meijer Express locations offering gas, coffee, grab-and-go food and everyday essentials. Boar's Head returning to Kroger shelves after disruption
Boar’s Head deli products are back at Kroger ’s store at Newport Pavilion and will soon return to other local stores where they disappeared, a Kroger spokesperson told The Enquirer. The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant confirmed in September that three larger format Marketplace stores in Newport, Kentucky, Anderson Township and West Chester were out of the popular premium deli brand. On Oct. 5, the grocer confirmed it was coming back to its stores and should be restored to previous stock levels in the coming weeks. The Kroger spokesperson declined to discuss the reason for the disruption or how it has been resolved. Officials with Boar’s Head did not respond for immediate comment. Some industry observers and store officials speculated the disruption was due to a standoff between Kroger and a supplier. As of Aug. 31, Kroger has also stopped selling Red Bull energy drinks without explanation. Kroger woos 'under pressure' shoppers The disruptions come as the grocer’s newly-minted CEO Greg Foran has vowed to lower prices as cash-strapped consumers fight creeping inflation. Foran is seeking to jumpstart Kroger’s sales growth by emphasizing value and affordable options. Though he mentioned no suppliers by name, Foran told Wall Street analysts on a Sept.
