Animal Friends looks to encourage adoption on National Day
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -Every year on April 30th as a nation we celebrate Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. Currently in North Central West Virginia and throughout the country shelters are overpopulated animals; while only having a limited amount of resources to care for them. Therefore, the day looks to encourage those who are willing and able to take in a fury friend, to do so. In Morgantown, Animal Friends is a local non-profit shelter that provides a care and aid for unwanted, abandoned, or abused animals. Part of what has made the shelter so successful is their ability to operate on different fronts. The Animal Friends Thrift Shoppe, located in the mountaineer mall, provides the funding for the non-profit; with all of their employee’s being volunteers. Making sure store officials like, Cathy Orozs, understand the importance of finding the right fit; while also showing their dedication to the cause.
