Four teens injured after ATV crash in Orange
ORANGE, Texas — Four teens were hospitalized after an ATV crash in Orange on May 28, according to Patrol Captain Keith Longlois with the Orange Police Department. Longlois told 12News that the ATV was going north on Third Street around 6:15 p.m., when the driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Park Avenue. The ATV hit a Chevy Tahoe that was going west on Park Avenue, which caused the ATV to flip.
Chase Turns Into Crash
A Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper pursued a vehicle for evading on Bob Hall Road, two miles east of U.S. Highway 87 on May 27. The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 1:54 a.m., a 2008 Chrysler passenger car was traveling north above the posted speed limit. It is reported that when Trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Chrysler, it began to evade from law enforcement. The suspect vehicle crashed at the intersection of Bob Hall Road and Allie Payne Road.
Third arrest made in shooting of Damarcus Ardoin
Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - A third individual tied to the Feb. 1 murder of Damarcus Ardoin has been arrested, according to the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility. A warrant for the arrest of William D. Dennis, 24, of Lake Charles was announced on Friday, March 17 as an additional suspect in their investigation. He was wanted for second-degree murder with a bond of $250,000 set by Judge Kendrick Guidry.
Seat belt campaign begins
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is participating in the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign with grant funding from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. The campaign, which started Monday, May 22 and ends Sunday, June 4, was created in an effort to save lives through awareness of increased seat belt use. This campaign includes the Memorial Day holiday, one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

Orange County gun shop struck in 'smash & grab' burglary early Friday morning
ORANGE, Texas — Deputies in Orange County are investigating a burglary at a gun shop on Texas Highway 62 early Friday morning. The Orange County Sheriff's Office was notified that a motion detector alarm had gone off at about 2:52 a.m. at Craig's Gun Shop in the 18000 block of Texas Highway 62 according to a spokesperson from the sheriff's office.
