Mobile home destroyed by fire near Sulphur
SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - A mobile home on Lonnie Road near Sulphur is said to be a total loss despite firefighters extensive efforts to extinguish the flames. The structure fire began Friday evening and firefighters worked until 3 a.m. Saturday to put out the fire, according to Houston River Fire Department (HRFD). DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department also responded.

Lake Charles Police K-9 certifies in fentanyl detection
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Lake Charles officer and his K-9 partner Kenzo received their narcotics detection certification this week. Sgt. Michael Treadway began training Kenzo in November of last year, and they became certified on April 15 after successfully testing their ability to locate a multitude of illegal narcotics in different environments, such as buildings and cars.
