'Chef's Kiss' reopens as a new Topeka catering business
A recently closed Topeka restaurant is rebranding and opening as a catering and events business. Chef’s Kiss Ristorante closed Aug. 30 after only a year in business. The restaurant opened August 2025, serving Italian cuisine, wine and cocktails. The building at 1618 SW Washburn Ave. is now for lease. Head chef Kelli Page said personal health issues prompted her to step away from running a full-time restaurant. Page will reopen next month as a catering and events business operating out of The Woodshed Event Center at 1901 N. Kansas Ave. “Chef’s Kiss (Ristorante) was very demanding of my time,” said Page. “There were times I couldn’t be on my feet, and the restaurant really struggled.” She said running a restaurant required her to work six days a week, which impacted her health. “I had to be there," Page said, "and I neglected my health to the point that I was admitted to the hospital.” Page was searching for a commercial kitchen to fulfill catering orders placed before the restaurant closed when another opportunity presented itself. “It started out as me looking for a ghost kitchen I could do some catering out of," she said. "The Woodshed said that with all

High Noon Soda Co. opened as a mobile pop-up in August, bringing the dirty soda trend sweeping the nation to the streets of Topeka. Now, Owner Amanda Rice is rebranding under the name Dirty Voltage Beverage Co. and business is booming. Dirty soda recipes typically begin with a soda base mixed with flavored syrup and cream and served over ice.
