A restaurant in downtown Old Town will change hands and operate under a new name next month.

Jeff Solari, who owns Kosta’s Restaurant & Bar, has decided to sell the location at 268 Main St. in Old Town. He will continue to operate the Brewer location.

Jennie Goddard, a longtime manager at the Brewer restaurant, will take over on May 1, according to a Facebook post from the business. She will rename the restaurant Main Street Grill and add new items to the menu.

“If you’ve been to Kosta’s Restaurant & Bar in Brewer in the last decade or so, you’ve probably seen or met Jennie Goddard,” the business wrote. “She’s been a manager here for years. And if there was a Kosta’s bartending Hall of Fame, she would be a slam dunk entry.”

Goddard has worked in hospitality throughout her career, but this will be her first experience as a business owner, according to the post.

Solari took over Kosta’s in Brewer in 2020. He expanded with a second location in Old Town about a year later . The opening marked a homecoming for Kosta’s, which was located in the same spot before Yamas Bar and Grill opened there in 2010.

Goddard and Solari were not immediately available to comment Wednesday morning.
