Van Wert EMA director promotes severe weather safety to West Central Ohio Safety Council
VAN WERT, OH (WLIO) - Ohio is leading the nation in the number of tornadoes so far this year, and a local EMA director wants people to know what to do when the siren sounds. Rick McCoy from Van Wert County spoke to the members of the West Central Ohio Safety Council about staying safe during severe weather. He touched on threats like thunderstorms, hail, and straight-line winds. There have been 55 confirmed tornadoes so far this year in Ohio, which usually sees the most tornado activity in May and June. So, McCoy told the group to be prepared when severe weather strikes.

CONVOY — A Convoy Memorial Day parade will be held at 9:30 a.m. on May 27 in the memory of fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for our country and to honor those who served in the military. ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Three people were hurt after a pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign Saturday evening. According to a press release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department (ACSD), just before 6 p.m., deputies responded to calls of a crash in the area of State Road 101 at Lincoln Highway East, just under 3.5 miles north of Monroeville.
