Civic Theatre revs up for 'Hands on a Hardbody'
VAN WERT — The Van Wert Civic Theatre will present its latest production, "Hands on a Hardbody." Inspired by a true story, "Hands on a Hardbody" features a contest where 10 contestants vie for the ultimate prize: a brand-new truck. The only catch? They have to keep their hands on it for as long as possible. As days turn into nights and fatigue sets in, the competition reveals the hopes, dreams, and struggles of each character.
Peony Queen Jubilee Keysor to hold musical recital
VAN WERT—Claire Keysor, daughter of Mike and Leah Keysor and recently crowned Peony Queen Jubilee XLIX, will present her senior vocal recital on Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church at 13887 Jennings Road, Van Wert, Ohio. The public is invited to this free event.
Bach meets Bon Jovi with Dallas String Quartet
VAN WERT—The popular Dallas String Quartet comes to Van Wert to perform at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on May 10. “This group started originally as a classical group and then over time it kind of evolved into a little bit more crossover that includes classical music elements but as well as music that is more familiar to people, more pop music,” said Ion Zanca, violist for the group.
