Crews have been working throughout Thursday night into Friday to solve the ongoing problem at the 300 block of North Main Street. “North Main Street water service remains unavailable,” the town wrote in a post early Friday morning, asking residents to avoid the area. “Crews have already replaced more than 35 feet of deteriorated terracotta pipe,” the town said in a statement. “As repairs progressed, additional sections of the existing pipe continued to fail, requiring approximately 61 additional feet of pipe to be replaced in order to make a secure connection to the existing water main.” School closures were announced by Caroline County Public Schools on Facebook, citing the water main break as the reason. The closure of the Greensboro Elementary School includes the Judy Center Early Learning Hub. “The town recognizes the significant inconvenience this creates for residents, businesses, and the school community,” the town’s statement read. “Our priority is to complete the repair safely and properly and restore water service as quickly as possible.” The town said it will continue to provide updates as the repair progresses
