Trophies on the line. Predictions on all Central Indiana football sectional title games
It’s go time. Sectional championship night in high school football, and we have some outstanding matchups, including a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in Class 5A. I was 25-4 last week on predictions to improve to 340-72 (82.5%) on the season. Here are the picks for Central Indiana high school football championship games on Friday: Hamilton Southeastern (5-5) at Carmel (6-4), Class 6A Sectional 3 Carmel took out No. 3 Westfield 48-45 last week in a great back-and-forth battle. Now, the No. 10 Greyhounds look to take the next step and win their first sectional championship since 2020 for second-year coach Kevin Wright. Carmel’s offense was clicking last week with quarterback Jackson Treadway (1,450 passing yards, 15 TDs on season), Chris Harris (24 catches, 720 yards, 10 TDs) and Carson Clark (25 catches, 226 yards, one TD) playing starring roles. HSE’s offense will need to control the ball with a running game led by senior Carter Reed (935 rushing yards, 10 TDs). Sophomore quarterback Deaken Johnson (1,557 passing yards, eight TDs) is a threat in the passing game. Seems strange these teams have not played since 2019. Carmel 34, HSE 17. Ben Davis (5-5) at Brownsburg (10-0), Class 6A
