A former bank manager of a New York-based branch admitted Thursday that he stole nearly $209,000 from a New Jersey customer by stealing his identity, federal prosecutors said. James Gomes, 43, of New York, pleaded guilty in Newark federal court to one count of wire fraud affecting a financial institution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey said in a release.

VERONA, NJ - Retired Verona Police Chief Doug Huber will be the Grand Marshal for this year’s Memorial Day Parade. A combat veteran of Vietnam, Huber joined the Verona Police Department as an officer on April 1, 1974. He quickly rose the ranks and was designated Verona’s Police Chief in February of 1994, a role he held until he retired from the Police Department in 2015.
