    AHSTW and Riverside Boy’s Track Tie for Ninth at Last Chance Relays

    (Tabor, IA) – At the Fremont-Mills Last Chance Relays on Tuesday, the Fremont-Mills Knights were able to win on the boy’s side after earning a total of 97 team points. The two local teams AHSTW and Riverside were able to capture a ninth-place spot with a total of 20 points each.

    Starting with the top finishers for AHSTW, Jett Petersen was able to throw 42’8.5″ and earn second place in the shot put while teammate Charlie Lane earned eighth with a throw of 35’8.5″. Jett Petersen also made an impact in the discus with a throw of 126’3″.

    Going on over to Riverside, Grady Jeppesen was able to earn a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 51.19. The Riverside 800-meter medley relay team was also able to earn a photo finish with a first-place finish at 1:37.60.

    Both teams traveled to Fremont-Mills with limited squads as they’re preparing for the track meet this coming Thursday for the state-qualifying meet.

    The Riverside Bulldogs will be traveling back to Fremont-Mills for their state-qualifying meet at 4:00 p.m. while AHSTW will be headed to Treynor for their state-qualifying meet that also starts at 4:00 p.m. Both those meets will be covered right on westerniowatoday.com.
