The newly renovated space will be more family friendly, with the event space on the second floor brighter and slightly larger than before.

NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley's culinary renaissance continues this summer when Hudson Rose opens in the center of town this summer. With a menu described as "Elevated American," the menu celebrates the American experience of taking the best of the world and making it our own with influences from Italian and Asian cuisine.

Anyone who visited the former occupant of the space knows the space was in need of a major facelift - from an exterior that looked like the love child of Le Bar Bat and the Haunted Mansion, to carpets and walls that were influenced by the Ford administration, the space was gutted and turned into a beacon of the Nutley Renaissance. Behind the scenes, plumbing, fire suppression, and accessibility were priorities of owners Brian Neiman and Bruce Fischer.

Nieman, told TAPinto Nutley that, "We are completely redoing the restaurant. New color choices and much more light!" The TAPinto Nutley team has a first peek, or should we say amuse-gueule of what to expect. (Check the photo gallery!)

Keeping with patron's expectations, there is a full bar and event space on the top floor. One new feature is the addition of a handicap-accessible restroom on the second floor, making the event space more accommodating for guests. The stairs to the second floor are new as well.

Named for one of the partners' children, Hudson and Rose, the menu has New York City vibes. It won't be a steakhouse, but they will be aging their own steaks. Tasting menus, a feature of higher end restaurants, are in the works, Nieman was quick to add, "it's something that won't burst your wallet." A major goal is to keep it family friendly, both in style and price.

Nieman told TAPinto Nutley a little more about the culinary plans, but sshhh, spoilers!

When Mayor Kelly said, "Nutley is a destination, not just a stop along the way," he must have had the Hudson Rose in mind.
