Body found in Yantic River near Town Street in Norwich. What we know.

The body of an adult man was found in the Yantic River in Norwich.

Norwich Police said that a fisherman called them at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in regards to a body found in the river. The body was found in the area of Stop & Shop at 70 Town St. in Norwich.

As of Friday morning, the body had yet to be identified. However, Norwich Police did confirm the deceased was an adult man and estimated he was in his 20s or 30s. Based on the body found, Norwich Police believe the man had been in the river for a few days.
