Northampton murder suspect was expected to change plea

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The man accused of stabbing a woman to death in 2022 was expected back in court on Wednesday.

Greenfield man arrested in connection with Chapman Street homicide

Devin Bryden, 24, is charged in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old woman and larceny of a motor vehicle. According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Bryden told police that he killed the victim to take her car because he was going to be homeless soon.

He pleaded not guilty in Northampton District Court in 2022 before being indicted by a grand jury where he again pled not guilty. Bryden was scheduled to be in Hampshire Superior Court for a change of plea hearing on Wednesday morning however, the hearing has been called off at this time.
