Vehicle thefts reported at local hotel
Lamar, Pa. – Two travelers were robbed between May 17 and May 18 as they stayed overnight at the Lamar Hampton Inn Hotel on Hospitality Lane, Clinton County. A 47-year-old from Waynesburg, KY, and a 72-year-old from Mesa, AZ reported to police that their cars were broken into between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday. The actor(s) broke into a 2009 Dodge 1500 Ram Promaster and a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado and took luggage, food items, tools, and other valuables, according to the report. Police said the vehicles were locked at the time. PSP Lamar is asking anyone with information about the vehicle thefts at the hotel to call 570-726-6000.

Jersey Shore, Pa. — Fire broke out at a Jersey Shore nursing home Monday morning, forcing nearly 100 residents to be evacuated. Emergency crews were called to Jersey Shore Nursing & Rehab, 1008 Thompson St., just after 11:30 a.m. for a reported fire. When crews arrived, they found the building's HVAC unit on the roof in flames and smoke filling the third floor of the care home, officials said.
