South Coast Running Club’s Mac’s Run is Dec. 9
The South Coast Running Club’s annual Mac’s Run is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9, starting and ending at Sunset Bay State Park near Charleston. Events include both 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer run/walks, with each race taking runners through Shore Acres State Park and the longer one through Cape Arago State Park as well. While both routes are entirely on roads, they also include tough hills. The entry fee is $15 for members of the South Coast Running Club and $20 for non-members who sign up before the race. North Bend honors judo champion twins
A surprise ceremony took place on Monday, November 20, to celebrate the achievements of a special set of sisters attending North Bend High School. The Buskerud twins, Brynn and Haley, have had quite the impressive year. After competing in Spokane, Wash., at the USA Judo Senior Nationals this May, the twins took home four gold medals, one for each of the four events they competed in, thus sweeping the field. For the first time since 2020, the South Coast Aquatic Team was able to host a meet at North Bend Municipal Pool. The team hadn’t been able to host since the 2020 B/C Championships because of the COVID-19 pandemic and then repairs to the pool. The combined Bandon-Pacific football team had the top grade point average of all Class 2A programs, earning first place in the Academic All-State program sponsored by the Oregon School Activities Association.
