One woman killed, another injured in shooting outside Uniontown restaurant
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (KDKA) - One woman is dead and another was injured following a shooting outside of a restaurant in Uniontown.Police say they were called to Something Different along Austin Street around 9:40 p.m. Sunday after there was a shooting outside of the restaurant.Lt. Tom Kolencik told KDKA that an argument started inside the restaurant and the owner told the people to leave and once outside, that's when the shooting took place.32-year-old Shaquisa Sims was one of the people shot. She was taken to the hospital where she later died. 29-year-old Jasmine Johnson was also shot outside of the restaurant.Police say...
Fayette County paramedic attacked
A Fayette County EMS worker was attacked while rending aid at a Dollar General on May 4. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, PSP Uniontown responded to National Pike for a report of an unresponsive male at the location. When troopers arrived on scene all parties involved were spoken to on scene. The investigation determined that a man passed out in the break room of the Dollar General while under the influence of a controlled substance. That man then physically assaulted a paramedic from Fayette County who was called to render aid.
Update: Tornado warning for Southwest Pa. Saturday evening
On Saturday at 6:28 p.m. an updated tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties. "At 6:28 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Jefferson Hills, or near Gastonville, moving east at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."

Volunteers raise more than 300 flags to honor veterans at a Westmoreland County cemetery
Around 100 volunteers helped raise flags at a Westmoreland County cemetery to honor veterans. It’s the 30th year volunteers gathered at the West Newton Cemetery to raise the West Newton Avenue Flags. “We started in 1994 with about half as many flags, but today we have 385 full-sized flags all in memory of a deceased veteran,” Stacey Federoff said. The event is a generational affair, with everyone from Boy Scouts to men who are veterans themselves pitching in.
