Another Earthquake Strikes Tennessee, Between Nashville, Knoxville, & Chattanooga

Another earthquake struck central Tennessee today, adding to the growing number of earthquakes impacting the state in recent weeks and months. According to USGS, the earthquake struck at 8:54 am this morning near the town of Beersheba Springs, located almost in the middle of Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga. The earthquake was relatively weak and was rated as a magnitude 2.5 event; it struck from a depth of 15.8 km. While some did report they felt shaking to USGS, there were no reports of any damage or injuries. Today’s earthquake adds to the growing sum of earthquakes Tennessee has had in recent months where the overall volume of earthquakes there appears to be increasing.
