Muscatine DMV unveils plaque honoring organ donor
MUSCATINE COUNTY, Iowa — Micaela Brunson was only 16 years old when she passed away, but her legacy lives on. That's because she was an organ donor. By agreeing to become a donor when she got her license, Micaela was able to save 24 lives. On Friday, May 31, the Muscatine DMV revealed a plaque in her memory, encouraging others to become donors, as well.
Iowa City to close housing voucher program amid 4-year wait, offers new solutions
The Iowa City Housing Authority will be closing their Housing Choice Voucher Program at 5 p.m. on July 1st, until further notice. The Department of Housing and Urban Development recommended closing the program because there is a current wait time of more than four years to get approved for a voucher.
