NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WKBN) — A new energy-efficient chiller has been installed at Newton Falls Schools’ elementary-middle building, which houses students from kindergarten to fifth grade.

The chiller installation was part of a $200,000 energy-efficiency grant awarded to the school district by the Ohio Department of Development Services Agency.

The school district has also installed LED lighting in this building with this grant funding.

“We are thrilled to announce the completion of the chiller installation at our K-5 building,” said Justin Christopher, superintendent of Newton Falls Schools. “This milestone not only reflects our commitment to sustainability but also demonstrates our dedication to responsible stewardship of resources. We are grateful to the Ohio Department of Development Services Agency for their support in making this project a reality.”

These measures are part of the school district’s plans to reduce energy costs and improve energy consumption throughout its facilities.
