HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office provided an escort to keep bicycle riders safe for the annual Tour de North bicycle ride on Wednesday.

North High School students met at the Centenary United Methodist Church on Old State Road to ride their bikes down Highway 41 on their way to school. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office stopped northbound traffic on Highway 41 to help safely escort the riders to the high school.

After arriving at the school, the sheriff’s office and Audubon Chrysler unveiled the new North High School Resource Deputy truck. Sheriff Noah Robinson said getting the new truck was only possible due to the support of the community.

Officials with Audubon Chrysler say they hope these events strengthen the relationship students have with law enforcement.
