• Scattered showers and storms this afternoon
• Very warm and stormy for Father's Day
• Active pattern through at least midweek next week

PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: A cold front sweeping into southern Wisconsin will bring scattered showers and a few thunderstorms this afternoon. The best chance of thunderstorm later today will mainly be south/southeast of Madison near the Wisconsin/Illinois border, especially across northern and west central Illinois. Behind the cold front chances for showers will end and humidity and temperatures will drop this evening.

EXTENDED FORECAST: Temperatures and humidity will drop a bit from Friday into Saturday. More storms are possible for Father's Day and most of next week as temperatures will be well into the 80s and a few areas could squeeze out a 90. Madison has not reached the lower 90s since early September of last year. Heat index values will be in the mid, maybe even upper 90s in a few spots, (especially southward) Sunday through Tuesday.
