I’ve had to shut down the comments on some of my articles due to downright hostile remarks. It occurred to me, however, that the migrants probably aren’t reading American news, which is published in English. Immigrant rights and housing advocate Amy Beck confirmed my suspicions. “No, I don't think they're aware because the majority don't speak English and don't follow local Denver news,” Beck said in an email. ”It's also not something I've ever mentioned to them. It's not important to me to point out haters. I'm usually talking with them about services and their rights. Also just helping them along their path. I've never discussed haters with them unless haters physically show up in a camp and we have to deal with them firsthand.”
