The Pitt County Master Gardeners annual plant sale is set for 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Pitt County Arboretum north of Greenville.

The event features plants that the group says will enhace yards and garden with beautiful plants grown by the Master Gardeners themselves. Plants for vegetable and flower gardens as well as shrubs and trees will be available.

Friends of the Arboretum are admitted beginning at 9, so bring your Friends of the Arboretum card. If you are not already a friend, become one that morning. The gates will be open to everyone from 10 to noon.

The arboretum is adjacent to the Pitt County Agricultural Center, 403 Government Circle, in the Pitt County Office Park off of Old Creek Road.

Only cash and checks will be accepted. This event is rain or shine.

Pitt County Master Gardeners are volunteers who work with N.C. Cooperative Extension to provide gardeners with science-based information on sustainable gardening, lawn and landscape practices.

Volunteers complete an intensive and fun hands-on training program, pass an examination and complete a 40-hour internship with N.C. Cooperative Extension in Pitt County. Volunteers log a minimum of 30 hours of service and 10 hours of continuing education each year.
