    Spring home sales kick off with high prices in Massachusetts

    CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley has released its April housing market report.

    Housing debate carries tax credit, health angles

    Home closings have increased since last year and they’re still selling for more money than last April. The median sale price for homes was $335,050, which is 7.5% higher than last year’s $311,750.

    There were 320 homes sold in April this year, which is up 1.9% over April 2023. The inventory of available homes for sale in April was down 24.4% with 458 on the market versus 606 homes in April 2023.

    The average time on the market is down by 27% year-over-year, averaging 36 days.

    There are currently 171 houses for sale in Hampden County under $335,000 according to Zillow .
