    Here are the top performers from Week 12 of WNC spring sports, including a golf state champ

    Here are the Western North Carolina athletes who had top performances this week in spring sports.

    This list is compiled from information provided to the Citizen Times (sports@citizentimes.com) or posted on MaxPreps or social media. It will be updated throughout the week.

    Tuesday

    Men's Golf

    Sage Osteen, Asheville Christian Academy: With a score of 154 over two days at the NCISAA Division II boys state championship, Osteen finished 10-over-par and earned a 21st-place tie.

    Hank Johnson, Avery County: Johnson shot 114 over two days at the NCHSAA 1A boys golf championships, tying for sixth place.

    Hayden Fox, Christ School: Fox shot a 4-over-par 76 two finish tied for 19th at the NCISAA Division I boys state championship.

    Collier Lilly, Christ School: Lilly shot a 77 to finish in a tie for 22nd.

    Hunter Toney, Hendersonville: Toney shot 4-over par on the second day of the 2A boys golf championships and tied for 25th place.

    Chase Arnold, Madison: Arnold shot 155 in the two-day tournament to finished tied for 25th at the 2A boys golf championships.

    Connor Warren, Mitchell: Warren shot an even-par 35 through nine holes, giving him a score of 107 through two days to win his third consecutive 1A boys golf individual state championship.

    Brody Miller, Mitchell: Miller was 12-over par in 27 holes at the 1A boys golf championships, giving him a 15th-place individual finish and helping Mitchel win its second consecutive state championship.

    Bryce Miller, Mitchell: The sophomore was the third-best finisher for the Mountaineers with a card of 124, good for a 24th-place tie.

    Carson Anglin, Mountain Heritage: The freshman shot 9-over par on both days of the 1A boys golf championships, helping him tie for 24th place.

    Carson Murphy, Owen: Murphy's 14-over par score over two days let him finish 28th at the 2A boys golf championships.

    Matthew Mehaffey, Pisgah: Mehaffey shot 3-over par on the second day of the 3A boys golf championships to finish tied for 28th place, WNC's best 3A finisher.

    Avery Harden, Polk County: Harden's score of 117 over 27 holes helped him to a 12th-place finish at the 1A boys golf championships.

    Baseball

    Evan Conner, Tuscola: Conner homered twice to lead the Mountaineers to a 7-2 upset win over West Henderson in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

    Amos Rich, Tuscola: Rich struck out six batters over six innings, allowing four hits and two runs to earn the win. He also drove in two runs at the plate.

    Jude Lyda, West Henderson: Lyda drove in both of West Henderson's runs in a 7-2 loss to Tuscola.

    Monday

    Girls soccer

    Peyton Case, Asheville High: Case scored a brace and assisted on two other goals, pacing the Cougars' offense in a 9-0 mercy-rule win over Hopewell in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

    Lily Foo, Asheville High: Foo's two goals matched her teammate's scoring output. She also assisted on a goal.

    Maya Pattanayak, Asheville High: The freshman scored a brace of her own in only 20 minutes on the pitch.

    Charley Goodwin, Brevard: Goodwin scored a hat trick and tallied two assists, helping a powerful Brevard offense to an 11-2 win over R-S Central in the first round of the 2A playoffs.

    Lily Rogers, Brevard: Rogers also scored three goals in the Blue Devils' mercy rule victory.

    Meleah Foster, Brevard: The senior scored a brace, the third of Brevard's multi-goal scorers in the win.

    Amber Hernandez, Madison: Hernandez tallied two goals in a 3-0 win over Randleman in the first round of the 2A playoffs.

    Elena Carroll, Polk County: The senior's two goals led the effort in Polk County's 5-1 victory over Mountain Heritage in the first round of the 1A playoffs.

    Jaylee Monteith, Reynolds: In only her second game with the Rockets, Monteith scored a brace to lead Reynolds to a 4-0 victory over St. Stephens in the first round of the 3A playoffs. Her first goal came in 59 seconds.

    Christina Diavatis, Reynolds: The freshman also scored two goals for the Rockets in the win.

    Lucy Sloan, Roberson: Sloan scored two goals and assisted on another in a 5-1 first round win over Grimsley in the 4A playoffs.

    Kate Pratt, Roberson: Pratt also scored a brace for the Rams in the win.

    Anna Gray, Swain County: Gray recorded a hat trick to lead the Maroon Devils' offense in a 7-0 first round 1A playoff win over Tri-County.

    Mya Burrows-Kurr, Swain County: The junior scored an additional two goals and assisted on three of her teammates' scores.

    Julia Wells, Tuscola: Wells made nine saves, but the Mountaineers lost in the first round of the 3A playoffs 3-1 to Oak Grove.

    Marianne Maxon, West Henderson: Maxon tallied a hat trick and assisted on two more goals in an 8-0 win over North Lincoln in the first round of the 3A playoffs.

    Rhylie Druskis, West Henderson: Druskis added a brace to help the Falcons' scoring outburst in the playoff victory.

    Baseball

    Chip Hoornstra, Asheville Christian Academy: Hoornstra went 2-for-3 at the plate and struck out four batters in 1⅔ hitless innings, but Hickory Grove Christian walked off the Lions for a 4-3 win.

    Malachi Huskins, Mountain Heritage: Huskins drove home two runs in Mountain Heritage's 15-5 loss to Uwharrie Charter in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

    Reno Jeter, Roberson: Jeter threw five innings of one-hit ball in Roberson's 7-0 win over Ragsdale in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs, striking out six.

    Caden Davidson, Roberson: Davidson homered in the first inning to score two runs. He also doubled and walked.

    Softball

    Layla Presnell, McDowell: Presnell struck out 10 batters in 5⅓ innings pitched. She allowed four hits and gave up three runs in a 3-2 loss to South Caldwell in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

    Zoie Shuler, Robbinsville: Shuler scored two runs to set a new NCHSAA single-season record with 64 runs scored, surpassing the record set in 2015. The Black Knights beat Cherryville 5-1 to advance to the fourth round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

    Memory Frapp, Robbinsville: Frapp threw a complete-game one-hitter in Robbinsville's third round win, striking out three and allowing one unearned run.
