CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Most of the Lowcountry is staying dry today but there is a risk of scattered storms that will have a high impact.

Storm Team 2 says the possibility of showers rises to 30% around 2 p.m. until the evening hours.

“The rain threat is not incredibly high today, thunderstorms will be few and far between, they’re going to be scattered but they will be high impact,” says Meteorologist Josh Marthers. “If you’re underneath one you’re going to have very heavy rain, lots of cloud to ground lightning, even the risk of a pocket of wind damage or large hail.”

Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s into the afternoon hours.
