    What kind of house will $189,000 get you in Broome County? We checked

    As of this April, the median price for a home in Broome County is $189,450 — more than a 10% increase from March.

    While this short-term rise may give some pause, it is just over 17% lower than last year, when the median home list price was $229,000.

    39 Haendel St., Binghamton: Listed at $185,000, annual taxes at $3226

    Built in 1930, this four-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,550 square-foot-home features a covered porch and a large backyard in a 7,500-square-foot lot.

    The house has new furnishings, bedrooms with new paint and flooring and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. According to the listing, the house has a new boiler and roof, and features two extra rooms in the basement.

    This four-bedroom, one-bathroom, 1376-square-foot Binghamton home was built in 1936.

    The home, which is located on a .45 acre lot, has two detached garages which can hold up to four vehicles. The home features a fenced back yard, a large side yard and a long paved driveway for off-street parking.

    Two of the bedrooms in the home have walk-in closets, and it also comes with a fireplace.

    This 1970 single family home features a two-car garage and a yard in a third-of-an-acre lot.

    According to the property details section on realtor.com, the 1,729-square-foot house needs some updates and repairs, but comes with a remodeled bath, 2022 refrigerator and a 2022 furnace and air conditioning system.

    The house includes three bedrooms, one-and-a-half bathrooms and an outside deck.
