    Georgia fugitive in decades-old murder case arrested in Mecklenburg County

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A fugitive out of Georgia accused of torturing and murdering three people in a decades-old cold case was caught in Mecklenburg County, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday.

    Derrell Adams was wanted out of Clayton County, Georgia, in a case that dates back 11 years and involves four suspects.

    Adams is accused of torturing and murdering three people and was wanted on three counts of malice murder, which is defined in Georgia as a homicide done with expressed or implied malice.

    Adams, 32, was arrested last week in Huntersville without incident and booked around 3:12 a.m. on Friday, according to the sheriff’s office. He was held on a $125,000 secured bond.
