WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Some students in Eastern North Carolina will soon be getting a unique learning experience.

Beaufort County Community College is in partnership with Beaufort County Schools. The IBX STEM Center and Dillon’s Aviation are offering a high school Aviation Academy. Students who are 16 years or older can take either private aircraft pilot courses or drone operating courses.

“The goal of Beaufort County Schools is to prepare students for jobs that aren’t here yet. We know they’re coming to our area. we always want to work together to make positive pathways for students to put them in positions of employability and great success in their careers,” said Victoria Hamill, director of Career & Technical Education at Beaufort County Schools.

The courses will start this fall and are open to students at Beaufort County home or private schools. Click here and here for more details .
