    Whitley County officials searching for pack of dogs after attack hospitalizes 2-year-old

    WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A two-year-old boy has been hospitalized after a dog attack, according to Whitley County Fiscal Court.

    According to officials, it happened in the Johnny Hollow area of Rokholds, near Whitley North Elementary School. The toddler was taken to UT Medical Center, and his condition is unknown at this time.

    Whitley County officials issued a public notice on Monday, asking the public to be on the lookout for a pack of around 10 dogs and possible coyotes.

    Since the attack happened near the elementary school, students will stay inside for the day on their last day of school, court officials said.

    “Judge executive, Whitley County EMA, several fire departments, and more are all out looking for the dogs,” the Whitley County Fiscal Court told FOX 56.

    Officials advise the public not to approach the dogs if they see them but to call 911 immediately.
