CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Authorities in Alabama announced the arrest of three teenagers believed to be connected to crimes across state lines.

At around 4 p.m. Thursday, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted a traffic stop in the Gold Ridge area. According to public information officer Chad Whaley of the CCSO, they were led on a short pursuit when the suspect vehicle did not stop.

The occupants abandoned the vehicle at the intersection of County Road 1422 and County Road 1476. Deputies determined the three suspects were the three juveniles who escaped from a juvenile facility in Birmingham on Sunday.

During the search, CCSO tracking K-9s were deployed, and Cullman Police and AST assisted with air support.

All three juveniles are in custody. Whaley stated they were wanted in connection to crimes across different states and considered armed and dangerous.

“I would like to commend our Deputies for being diligent throughout this ordeal. I would like to thank our K9 Trackers for an outstanding job,” Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry said in a statement. “I would also like to thank the support of all the other agencies that stepped in to help locate these individuals. This was a tremendous team effort and a great success in getting these subjects back behind bars.”
