    Texas DPS IDs former county judge killed in Wednesday night crash in Lamb County

    One person was killed in a crash involving a car and tractor-trailer Wednesday night in Lamb County.

    According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Sherri Harrison, 57, from Muleshoe, was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry out of a private drive off U.S. Highway 84 when she failed to yield the right of way to a 1998 Kenworth truck tractor towing a semi-trailer that was westbound on the highway. The vehicles collided in the roadway about 10:10 p.m.

    According to DPS, the road conditions were dry, with clear weather. Harrison was taken to Lamb County Healthcare Center, where she later died.

    Other factors contributing to the crash were not immediately clear as the investigation is ongoing.

    Harrison served as the Bailey County judge from 2005 until 2022 .
