A man accused of stalking a woman and killing her friend who tried to intervene was found guilty Wednesday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.

A jury found Dicari Brown guilty of murder in the 2022 fatal shooting of 21-year-old Tyrese Woodkins , according to Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers.

Brown, 23, faces a possible sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 18 years.

In October 2022, Brown was exhibiting “stalking behavior” and “targeting a woman,” Powers said.

During the morning of Halloween that year, Brown arrived at the woman’s workplace and was told to leave by Woodkins, who was her friend.

Later that day, Brown was waiting for the woman at her home on the 4100 block of Kirby Avenue in Northside . When the woman saw him, she called for Woodkins to help her, which sparked an altercation, Powers said.

Woodkins ended up bringing a firearm, which Brown was able to take from him, prosecutors said. Brown shot Woodkins multiple times and fled.

Judge Megan Shanahan will sentence him on May 22.
