JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In celebration of National Nurses Week, BHE Renewables expressed gratitude to healthcare workers by treating the entire staff of WVU Medicine Jackson General Hospital to a complimentary lunch and announcing a $25,000 donation towards the hospital’s expansion project.

Dan Winters, VP of Communications and Public Relations for BHE Renewables highlighted the essential role healthcare workers play in community well-being.

“Health care workers are vital to community wellbeing, and we are honored to recognize them during National Nurses Week for all they do throughout the year,” said Winters.

The donation, facilitated through the Jackson County Community Foundation (JCCF), supports the construction of multiple areas within the hospital, including an emergency staff breakroom, main nurse’s station, and rehabilitation room.

The expansion project encompasses a new Emergency Department with private rooms, a Surgical Department, and an inpatient/swing-bed unit.

Stephanie McCoy, CEO of WVU Medicine Jackson General Hospital, expressed appreciation for the support from BHE Renewables, particularly during National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week.

“We are so proud and excited to begin serving our patients and community in the new hospital wing. Much appreciation to BHE Renewables for recognizing JGH employees as we celebrate National Nurses Week May 6-12 and National Hospital Week May 12-18,” said McCoy.

BHE Renewables is also involved in the development of a solar microgrid-powered industrial park in Jackson County.
